There are fewer things I love more than watching someone come into their own with something they are passionate about. For those of you who know me well, you already know the title of this post is most definitely not about me! I cook just enough to get by and the word “gourmet” wouldn’t necessarily be used for what I concoct in the kitchen!
That word however, is most appropriate for the name of a blog that a dear friend of mine has recently started. My taste buds and I have had the good fortune to know Dawn for well over a decade. We’ve been blessed to have a group of women–more like a sisterhood–in our town that share our ups and downs. There’s plenty of laughter and hand-holding among this group, while we raise our kids and balance our lives with jobs and family commitments. And through it all, Dawn has always supplied the comfort and joy of food!
Back in the day, where most would bring take-out McDonald’s to a little league game, Dawn would have Tortilla Spirals ready-to-go, with plenty to share for the team and parents. Where an impromptu gathering for most might consist of chips & salsa to munch on, at Dawn’s home, a plate of Toasted Ravioli With Aoili seems to appear out of thin-air. And don’t even get me started on her Confetti Trifle…
And now, I’m so happy to say we can all share in the experience! Dawn has created a gorgeous website, thestayathomegourmetblog, where she shares her recipes, alongside pictures that I promise are going to leave you with food cravings! Oh, and yes, she was a guest on the Rachael Ray Show…
